Well music lovers my poor old PC which I've had for many years has finally given up the ghost. According to the Windows troubleshooter I have multiple corrupt files and need to re-load Windows 10 which I have not got as it was an upgrade. I have managed to back up my files which took me all day, and will be hunting for a new POOTER.
So The Vaults will be shut indefinitely until I am up and running again, hopefully in the near future.
Watch this space.
Very sad, I hope your posts come back soon.
ReplyDeleteWe'll miss you, but just think how overjoyed we'll be when you return!
ReplyDeleteBad news Bob, is the parrot really dead?

ReplyDeleteBad luck, Bob, but it happens to all of us at some time or another... Good that you have your material backed up, it's at times like this that one realises the importance of doing this.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you'll get yourself a suitable new computer soon - you deserve it - and look forward to your return as soon as you are up and running again.
Happened to me also BB. About 2 years ago, and like you I had no copy of Windows to restore from scratch as the PC came pre-loaded with no back-up of the OS. Took the damn thing to a PC shop. And he restored it to factory specs. Paid a bit for his service and labor, ran ok for about a year and the same crap happened again! It was time for a new one and boy was it worth it. An HP Pavilion. It flies now and it came with a nice size HD and RAM. It's a beauty and fast! Also upgraded my backup externals to 2 14TB Western Digital hard drives.
ReplyDeleteAlso I installed CCleaner, Glary Utilities & Malwarebytes to keep it running clean and smooth.
In retrospect it was good that it died. Enjoy your new one. See you soon.
Thanks everyone, Am waiting delivery of new PC on the 7th.
ReplyDeleteThanks Denis for the cleaning tips.
Wonderful source of a wide variety of music. Thank you! Hope to see you up and running again.
